Meet Ketty.  She runs a fabulous company called Detail Diva Events.

Ketty {Detail Diva Events}

What region do you live in?
I live in the North East, in New York City.

What kind of items do you sell?
I don’t exactly sell items but I do sell my expertise as a wedding and event planner.

How long have you been in business?
I have been in business since January 2007

Who do you try to emulate in your business? Who inspires you?
My inspiration has always been my mother. She has always been extremely detailed when eve she had any event, even the smallest dinner she would make it very special. I also have a great source of inspiration through celebrity planner Samantha Goldberg. I absolutely love her demeanor and love the fact that she works with low and high budgets. I had the pleasure of meeting Samantha while attending one of her wedding planning seminars / course and she truly is very down to earth.. We both have one thing is common and that’s to try to create a dream wedding on even the smallest budget. It’s very challenging but everyone deserves a great wedding.

Do you work outside of the home?
Currently I am working from my home office and it has been a great experience.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What are your goals with your business?
Wow…five years from now I see myself in a location big enough where I can showcase all I can offer for everyones special moment. Having enough space and the right equipment for my network of vendors to come and showcase and meet my clients.

What is your education as it pertains to your business?
I am a Certified Wedding Coordinator with CAES and I also have an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts.

What is your favorite part of owning your own business?

Vendor, vendors, vendors! I have met with the most amazing people in the wedding business. Truly creative, dedicated and very hard working. I have created my list of vendors with whom I network with and have given my clients the choice of working with them. I must say, my clients have been extremely impressed and please to have chosen to work with them. Like they say, “It takes a village to create a memorable event.?

What do you do for fun?
For fun, I become MOM and WIFE again. I love my kids and I love my husband so anything they are up to doing I am there. If they just simply want to take a walk in the park, that to me is enough fun because it’s with my family.

What would you say to another woman in business?
Ladies, many times in the beginning it feels like your business is just an expensive hobby. Don’t give up! Pace yourselves and schedule everything so you can have enough dedication for both your home and your business.

How would you offer to help another woman in business?
